DISTANT LEARNING GUIDELINES
Distant learning is optional for the 2021-2022 school year. It is not necessarily encouraged or discouraged, we want each family to do what they feel is right for themselves. Our faculty and staff are prepared for a safe physical return.
PHYSICAL LEARNING GUIDELINES
The school facility, classrooms, office spaces, restrooms, kitchen and common spaces will be disinfected and sanitized daily. We also will have a professional disinfected cleaning company come in to spray and sanitize before physical classes begin.
Students, Staff & Visitors are required to wear mask during school hours.
This year, majority of the student population are taking physical classes. This is subject to go up or down in the coming months. Students will be practicing social distancing on the school’s campus at all times in class, lines and during breaks.
We know that the last few months many children have been learning and practicing better personal hygiene. We ask that parents continue to do their part and explain the importance of spreading germs and being able to stop the spread of germs. Please make sure they are understanding the importance of covering coughs, covering sneezes, washing hands, etc. as we will be teaching them and requiring these common practices at school.
Any sick students and faculty are asked to stay home. If a student falls ill during school hours, parents or guardians will be called immediately for pick up. Please keep updated emergency contact information.
Doctors notes from illnesses diagnosed not related to Covid-19 are mandatory upon return to school. For example, if a child isn’t feeling well and goes to the doctor and is diagnosed with asthma related sickness they are allowed to return to school only with a note stating that.
POSITIVE TEST RESULTS
If any member of the staff or an enrolled student test positive all parents will be notified. No one will be allowed back in the school campus until they have re-tested negative for Covid-19.
Students will not be sharing supplies. Each student will be given an individual box with any needed supplies inside.
Students are required to bring personal headphones to school compatible with iPad devices. Students will be required to do more technology based learning so headphones will be needed in the classroom.
The water fountains have been unplugged for hygienic safety. We are asking that parents send students to school with bottles of water so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.
Students will be broken up into groups for lunch to practice social distancing. There will also be only one or two students per table in the lunch room. Weather permitting days, we would like the students to take advantage of outdoor spaces when eating lunch. Students may bring their personal blankets as we will have individual “faux grass squares” for them to sit on in the school yard. Squares will be a minimum of 6 feet apart and will be in place for students to enjoy fresh air while still being distant.
